Cessna 680 Citation Latitude crashed onto Loop 20 highway in Laredo, Texas, on June 16, 2026, shortly after 10:00 p.m. local time. The aircraft, registered N523QS, had departed Los Cabos International Airport earlier that evening. Laredo International Airport received an alert at 9:58 p.m. indicating the crew was dealing with mechanical issues and a low fuel state. The aircraft then lost communication with the tower before impacting the highway near Saunders Street and Clark Boulevard.
One of the six occupants on board was pronounced dead at the scene. The five survivors were transported to local hospitals in stable condition. The aircraft caught fire on impact, and bystanders alongside Laredo Police Department officers used a sledgehammer and shovel to extract occupants from the burning wreckage. Five officers were also treated for smoke inhalation.
NetJets activated its crisis response team on June 17 and confirmed it will not speculate on the cause while the NTSB, with FAA assistance, conducts its investigation.
